3. How We Store Your Data
iCloud Storage
All your family data is stored securely in your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit framework. This means:
- Your data is encrypted and stored on Apple's servers
- Only you and your family members can access your data
- We do NOT have access to your personal data
- Data syncs automatically across your devices
Local Storage: Some data is stored locally on your device using SwiftData for offline functionality.
4. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
ChoreQuest is designed for families with children. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Apple's guidelines for kids' apps:
- We do NOT collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent
- Parents must create accounts for children under 13
- Children's data is stored in the parent's iCloud account
- We do NOT use third-party analytics or advertising in the Kids Category

- Parents can request deletion of their child's data at any time

- Within Your Family: Family members can see shared quest and reward data
- With Apple: Subscription payments are processed by Apple through the App Store

6. In-App Purchases
Subscription payments are processed securely through Apple's App Store using StoreKit. We receive only a confirmation of purchase - we do NOT store your payment information.
